Question:    I have heard about something called 'charts' in Hold’em Poker that are used to show the hand ranking? What is the accurate chart structure to determine the starting hands for one who is playing Hold’em poker online?

Answer:    Yes, there are charts, which show hand rankings in Hold’em poker game. These charts mostly display general hand rankings and are not competent enough to show hand rankings specific to particular game contexts or situations.  It depends on how you use the charts in online poker. If you substitute memorizing charts for THINKING in terms of poker game contexts, they can be very harmful. Nothing can substitute for thinking, as it will help you a great deal in poker. Given the provision, I think, they can be helpful for the beginners and intermediate poker players only and they lose their significance as one advances in the game and acquires mastery over it. BECAUSE, once poker players advance to a certain level of gaming, they stop thinking of betting hands in terms of groups, and start understanding the unique characteristics of each betting hand. So, you can not entirely depend on these charts for determining the starting hands while playing online Hold’em poker; they can only give you some idea.
